The Issues

Liz is a passionate advocate for issues affecting her community, particularly the schools. She realizes that a strong foundational education sets a child up for a successful future, and she believes in school leadership that supports the teachers and staff.

Understand and Respect Ourselves and Others

Know who you are, who others are, and make it safe for all to belong.

As we clarify how Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Well-Being, and Social-Emotional Learning best practices support these outcomes, we can measure it using data about how diverse folks experience the district’s structural process. We can utilize that data to drive our strategy for implementing policy and programs that improve students’ sense of belonging - and all the positive educational and life outcomes that will come.

Foster Operational Excellence

Build on our strong foundation.

UA schools must enhance process and structure so educators and parents partner together to create optimal outcomes for all kids. As we anchor our continuous improvement in shared community values and strong financial stewardship, we can build more creative ways to connect with the community.

Anticipate and Adapt

Innovate to meet the needs of an ever-changing world.

Anticipating what our kids need in 10, 20, or even 30 years from now as they move through adulthood is much more complicated than it used to be. Best-practice 21st education has to teach kids the skills to work with others, draw from multiple disciplines, and see their area of specialization in a broader context.
